Job Summary The Assistant Teacher at Lovin’ Touch Learning Center supports the lead teachers in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role involves assisting with classroom activities, supporting the social and emotional development of children, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, and helping ensure effective communication with parents and staff. Key Responsibilities Classroom Support: ● Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and lessons. ● Support classroom routines, including meal times, rest periods, and transitions between activities. ● Provide individualized attention to children to support their learning and development. Child Supervision: ● Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times. ● Monitor children during play, group activities, and outdoor time, ensuring a safe and positive environment. ● Assist in managing classroom behavior and implementing positive discipline strategies as directed by the lead teacher. Learning and Development: ● Encourage and support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through interactive play and activities ● Help create and maintain an engaging and stimulating classroom environment ● Assist with developmental assessments ● Support children's self-help skills, such as dressing, eating, and personal hygiene Communication: ● Communicate with parents and guardians regarding their child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns. ● Provide updates to the lead teacher about any notable observations or incidents. ● Participate in parent-teacher meetings as needed. ● Update procare several times a day Classroom Maintenance: ● Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment. ● Set up and clean up materials and supplies for activities, meals, and special events. ● Assist in sanitizing toys, equipment, and learning materials regularly. Collaborating with Staff: ● Work closely with lead teachers, caregivers, and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective classroom environment. ● Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. ● Assist in planning and organizing classroom events and celebrations. Compliance and Regulations ● Follow all center policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant environment. ● Be aware of and adhere to state licensing regulations and guidelines. ● Report any safety hazards, incidents, or concerns to the lead teacher or center director. Qualifications ● High school diploma or equivalent; ● coursework or certification in early childhood education is a plus. ● Previous experience working with young children in a childcare, educational, or similar setting. ● Strong communication and interpersonal skills. ● Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. ● Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with children. ● Basic understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices. Salary and Benefits Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $14.00 - $16.60 per hour Work Location: In person
