This role provides technical leadership in application design, system integration, and modern software development practices to deliver secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions aligned with business and enterprise technology objectives. Working closely with Product, Business, and Engineering teams, the Senior Application Developer translates business requirements into technical solutions, supports high-availability systems, promotes code quality and CI/CD best practices, and provides technical guidance to team members. The role also uses AI-powered development tools and emerging technologies to improve productivity, streamline troubleshooting, enhance code quality, and drive continuous improvement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES · Advanced proficiency in .NET Core/.NET Framework (C#) and Java. · Experience developing front-end applications using Angular and TypeScript. · Experience developing back-end applications using .NET and Java. · Experience developing RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and enterprise integrations. · Strong knowledge of SQL, relational database design, and query optimization. · Understanding of application architecture and modern design patterns, including MVC, MVVM, and SPA. · Experience with Git or a comparable source control platform, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure development practices. · Experience troubleshooting, optimizing, and supporting enterprise or high-availability applications. · Experience using AI-powered developer tools to improve coding, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and development efficiency. · Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or comparable technologies. · Exposure to AI/ML concepts or experience integrating AI-enabled services is preferred. · Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and provide technical guidance to team members. EXPERIENCE · Five or more years of application development experience. · Experience developing and supporting enterprise-scale or high-availability systems. · Experience with RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and enterprise system integrations. · Experience working within Agile software development environments. · Experience using AI-powered development tools to enhance engineering workflows. · Retail, POS, fuel systems, or related industry experience is preferred. CRITICAL HARD SKILLS · Advanced application development using C#, .NET Core, and .NET Framework. · Front-end application development using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. · RESTful API development, distributed systems, and enterprise system integration. · Application architecture and modern design patterns, including MVC, MVVM, and SPA. · SQL development, relational database design, and query performance optimization. · Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code-quality practices. · Application troubleshooting, monitoring, observability, debugging, and performance optimization. · Secure development and support of enterprise-scale, high-availability applications. · Cloud platforms and cloud-native development using Azure, AWS, or similar technologies. · AI-powered developer tools and integration of AI-enabled services into engineering workflows. EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. WORK ENVIRONMENT · Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. · Frequent use of computer monitors, which may result in eye strain. · Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer, keyboard, and other standard office equipment. · Occasional bending, stooping, and lifting up to 25 pounds. · Requires a normal range of hearing and vision, with or without reasonable accommodation. · May require occasional after-hours work to support deployments, maintenance activities, or critical production incidents. · Works primarily in an office, hybrid, or remote technology environment with frequent collaboration across teams.
