Oversee and develop child care programs, manage staff, ensure compliance with licensing standards, and maintain a safe environment.
Requires experience in early childhood education or child development, knowledge of Michigan licensing rules, and classroom experience.
The Program Director will supervise and train staff, developing curriculum, ensuring Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) compliance, and maintaining a safe, healthy environment for children and staff. Key duties involve creating and implementing program policies, managing facility operations, communicating with families, and meeting regulatory standards for operations and staffing. • Oversee the creation and implementation of staff policies and professional development. • Ensure staff meet all required qualifications and maintain appropriate child-to-staff ratios. Establish program standards and monitor classroom environments for safety and developmental appropriateness • Directors must meet specific coursework requirements in early childhood education or child development. • Knowledge of Regulations:. thorough understanding of the Michigan licensing rules for child care centers is mandatory. • Director-Specific Training:. Training in child care administration, which may be satisfied through courses or approved administrative credentials, is required. Training will be provided for some requirements. Program Director must have classroom experience.
