Overview Overview: LMI is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with Linux System Administrator experience to support the U.S. Army Training Information System (ATIS) program. ATIS is a major Army initiative to modernize and consolidate Army training systems into a single, cloud-native, enterprise-level capability. As part of an Agile Release Train (ART) operating under the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), this role will involve leading the design, deployment, and maintenance of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure for training and education delivery across the Army enterprise. The incumbent will act as a recognized technical subject matter expert, providing strategic advisory and direction to the organization and clients. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable AWS GovCloud environments using DevSecOps best practices. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Linux-based systems using GitLab, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and automation tools. Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Linux-based EC2 and containerized environments (e.g., RHEL, Amazon Linux). Develop and maintain automation artifacts, including Terraform modules, Ansible playbooks, and shell scripts. Partner with cybersecurity teams to support IATT/ATO activities, including documentation, ACAS scanning, patching, and vulnerability remediation. Troubleshoot OS-level and infrastructure issues impacting platform services and application deployments. Design, document, and improve high availability and disaster recovery solutions to enhance reliability and uptime. Serve as a technical SME and lead for Linux system administration supporting ATIS Learning components. Provide surge and on-demand support for additional ATIS systems as mission needs evolve. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Active Secret security clearance. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field. 6+ years of experience in AWS cloud engineering and automation. Active DoDI 8140 certification/qualification. Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash) and infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible. Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines for secure, Linux-based systems in a DoD environment. Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements, including STIG compliance, ACAS scanning, patching, and eMASS documentation Preferred Qualifications: AWS Certification (Architect or DevOps). Experience with FedRAMP, FISMA, or DoD cloud accreditation. Experience with container technologies (Docker, Podman) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS) is a plus. Prior experience supporting Learning Management Systems or DoD training environments. Travel Requirements: Occasional travel required (e.g., quarterly for PI Planning, user engagement sessions, and key program milestones).
