Your Responsibilities Due to our success and increased business opportunities, we are looking for an Associate Consultant to provide technical and operational support within our Carrier Consulting Practice. The ideal candidate will demonstrate employee benefits industry knowledge in areas such as group life and disability benefits, product development, UW, supplemental health products, and operational expertise. They will also possess a high level of professionalism, possess the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, the flexibility to easily adapt to changing priorities and desire to engage in new opportunities to learn. • Support Operational Reviews and Process Improvement: Assist in conducting operational reviews of life, disability, and absence programs by analyzing processes, technology integrations, compliance requirements, and staffing allocations. Gather data, document findings, and support the implementation of recommended improvements. • Assist in Software Evaluations and Vendor Coordination: Contribute to software evaluations by supporting needs assessments, drafting RFP questions, and preparing materials for finalist meetings. Collaborate with senior team members to ensure technology solutions align with program objectives and compliance standards. • Support Internal Audits and Compliance Checks: Participate in internal audits of underwriting, claims, and customer service operations. Collect and organize data, assist in evaluating compliance with industry regulations, and help document findings and recommendations for operational efficiency. • Contribute to Training Material Development and Delivery: Assist in creating training materials on topics such as FMLA, ADA, Paid Family Leave (PFL), and life/disability/absence integration. Support the delivery of training sessions, ensuring content is accessible and aligned with current regulations and best practices. • Conduct Research for Industry Insights: Perform research to support competitive analysis by product, market segment, and geography. Compile data and assist in synthesizing findings to inform product development, pricing, and market strategies under senior guidance. • Support Business Case Development: Assist in building business cases for initiatives, including conducting financial analysis, gathering criteria data, and assessing speed-to-market readiness. Provide input to senior team members for final recommendations. • Analyze Program Data for Trends and Insights: Support data analysis efforts by reviewing program data to identify trends, performance metrics, and areas for improvement. • Prepare Reports and Presentations: Assist in compiling reports and presentations for internal and client use, ensuring data accuracy and clarity. Support the translation of analytical findings into actionable insights, tailored to audience needs. • Collaborate with Teams for Project Delivery: Work closely with senior consultants, project managers, and operational teams to deliver high-quality work products. Contribute to team discussions, share insights, and support project tasks to meet deadlines and objectives. • Support Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to special projects, such as technology integrations or market expansion efforts, by performing assigned tasks, conducting research, and providing analytical support. Stay informed on regulatory changes to assist in maintaining compliance and competitiveness. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • 5-7 years of experience in life, disability, and absence management, benefits administration, or product development. • Must have a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in analyzing contract provisions to evaluate market competitiveness. • Experience with operational audits within life, disability and absence space. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with HRIS or absence management systems (e.g., Workday, ADP). • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Legal right to work in the United States.
