The role in one line Take ownership in end to end product research and design for core workflows in a complex, regulated product and help mature our design system and philosophy as we scale. What you’ll do Own problems, not just screens. Partner with product and engineering to frame the job to be done and choose the simplest solution that works. Design from sketch to ship. Create flows and wireframes, polish UI in Figma, and collaborate closely through launch and iteration. Make hard things easy. Turn dense rules and edge cases into clear steps, helpful defaults, and clear the way for users to accomplish their goals. Shape human-in-the-loop AI. Design when the system should automate, when it should ask, and how it explains itself. Keep the system coherent. Evolve components, patterns, and guidelines so teams build quickly and consistently. Write clear words. Labels and microcopy that build trust and reduce cognitive load. Clearly document requirements and product expectations for engineering. Learn with users. Run lightweight research and usability tests. Fold insights back into the work. Collaborate with Clients. Engage closely with our clients and subject matter experts to understand business needs and understand their expectations for user experience. Measure outcomes. Define success, review data, and improve what you ship. Raise the bar. Give and receive thoughtful feedback. Advocate for quality where it matters. What great looks like here Strong product taste. Your work feels obvious in hindsight. You sweat details (states, keyboard flows, loading, errors, accessibility) and still move quickly. Comfortable navigating complexity and explaining it simply. Clear communicator who invites healthy debate. Skills & experience 5+ years designing end-to-end for complex SaaS or enterprise tools. Portfolio showing clean UX and high-quality UI craft (data heavy views a plus). Fluency in Figma (components, variants, auto-layout) and rapid prototyping (platform agnostic). Experience planning and running lean research. Ability to collaborate deeply with engineering and product and explain rationale clearly. Comfortable working in fast, ambiguous environments. Need someone who has been design lead or founding designer at startup. Nice to have Experience with document or data driven workflows. Built or maintained a multi-team design system. Worked on products with automation, assistants, or explainable AI. Familiarity with lending, fintech, or other regulated domains. How we’ll measure success (first 30 days) Shipped an improvement that reduces time on task, addresses a user need, or improves usability in a core task. Contributed documented components or patterns to the design system. Improved design operations or organization. Ran at least one user test or SME feedback workshop and shared a concise readout that led to design improvements. Built strong working rhythms with product and engineering partners.
