Kitchen Manager – Little General Co. Location: Columbia, MO Employment Type: Full-Time Industry: Convenience Store / Foodservice Schedule: Flexible; early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays required About the Role Little General Co. is looking for a dependable and motivated Kitchen Manager to lead foodservice operations at one of our Columbia, MO locations. This role is responsible for food quality, cleanliness, safety, inventory control, and kitchen staff leadership. The Kitchen Manager plays a key role in ensuring foodservice runs smoothly, safely, and profitably while delivering a consistent customer experience. Key Responsibilities Kitchen Operations • Oversee daily kitchen operations including prep, cooking, and service • Ensure food quality, consistency, and speed of service • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment • Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned, used, and maintained Team Leadership • Train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff • Set expectations for food safety, cleanliness, and professionalism • Coach team members and address performance or behavior issues • Ensure adequate kitchen coverage during peak hours Inventory & Cost Control • Manage food ordering, inventory, and proper rotation (FIFO) • Monitor food costs, waste, and portion control • Communicate supply needs and equipment issues to the General Manager Food Safety & Compliance • Ensure compliance with health department regulations and company food safety standards • Maintain temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and required documentation • Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and hygiene practices are followed Customer Experience • Ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality foodservice • Address food-related customer concerns promptly and professionally • Support overall store service standards Qualifications • 2+ years of kitchen or foodservice leadership experience • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health code requirements • Strong organizational and time-management skills • Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays What We Offer • Competitive pay based on experience • Stable, full-time employment • Leadership opportunity with growth potential • Supportive management and clear expectations Job Type: Full-time Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year Work Location: In person
