Flexographic Printing Press Operator Lithotype Company, a 100% Employee-Owned flexo flexible packaging company in Bolingbrook, IL, is seeking an Printing Press Operator for 2nd shift (2-10 pm) become an integral part of their team. Primary role is to operate press in accordance with established practices and standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Troubleshoot press problems. • Assure all of the machinery, equipment and presses properly maintained and tools are or made available. • Read job dockets and sign to acknowledge understanding job details. • Review laydown and set up • Review next job/set information • Clean and organize press area. • Double check raw materials. • Thoroughly check samples and web for quality. • Manage rolls and splicing • Register press • Assist the 2nd pressman or Press Helper to help get the press running. • Sets pressures on anilox and plate cylinders • Install chambers on the print units, connect supply and drain lines and set up operation. • Ensure product produced meets all quality standards and specifications. • Constant attention to conduct work and operate machinery in a safe manner. • Maintain inventory of your press supplies and any necessary spare parts. • Maintain good employee relations with crew. • Make sure log system is maintained on press Knowledge and Skill Requirements Essential Skills Attention to detail Meet the physical demands which require standing, stooping, climbing, bending, stepping up and down from machinery, and consistently walking and standing. Good math and problem solving skills Able to read and understand materials requirements and specifications Good computer aptitude Good mechanical aptitude Able to work all shifts and overtime Work in Team Environment ______________________________________________________________________ Required Skills/Experience Flexible printing experience as an operator or 2nd press person. Familiarity with job dockets, control sheets, and register controls Desired OSHA approved forklift certification, but not necessary.
