Job Summary As a successful Purchasing Specialist, you will interface with internal stakeholders as well as external suppliers in acquiring needed materials, supplies, and other relevant items to support manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for processing purchase requisitions and communicating purchase orders to appropriate suppliers. The Purchasing Specialist will develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs), and support process improvement activities. Job Responsibilities • Generate purchase orders for raw materials and other items to support operations. • Assess inventory, current orders, and future demands to assure adequate inventory is on hand and available to support production. • Respond to changes in demand and solve any supply chain supply risk that arise. • Develop Supplier KPIs to monitor supplier performance (Examples: On Time and In Full and Quality Events). • Review open order report daily and expedite orders, if necessary. • Ensure pricing is accurate and monitor purchase order price variances and communicate changes in pricing to management. • Participate in contract/supply agreement negotiations with vendors. • Review supply chain and identify secondary sources for contingency planning. • Support continuous improvement and operational excellence processes. • All other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Education and Experience • A high school diploma or general education diploma is required. • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field. • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in supply chain, demand planning and/or purchasing is required. • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, leadership, problem solving and communication skills. • Good manufacturing practice experience is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Strong management and organizational skills and detail orientation with an ability to prioritize, enable, and accelerate multiple programs and projects while simultaneously delivering against the activities of daily operations. • Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment is essential for success, with a strong ability to build relationships. • Proven agility and success in a dynamic company / business environment where change is frequent and rapid understanding and alignment is paramount. • Oracle NetSuite system experience and expertise desired • Experience with and expertise in PC applications including Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word required. • Excellent project management and communication skills, with particular emphasis on negotiating and problem solving Job Benefits Liquidia offers a competitive compensation package (base salary and commission) as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, 401(k) Savings Retirement Plan, ESPP, Unlimited Paid Time Off and more!
