About the Role The Territory Engineering Manager is responsible for Territory level leadership of engineering and maintenance operations for an assigned Outpatient Medical territory portfolio. This leadership will include technical performance support to driving operational excellence, vendor management, capital expenditure execution, utility expense management, facility operations, contract negotiations, life safety systems, environmental issues management, and training to enhance employee performance. The leader in this position will work with MOB senior leadership to develop strategies and direction to elevate building operational performance, ensure delivery of superior customer service, and attain financial objectives consistent with Lillibridge national strategies. Key responsibilities include: Provide technical guidance to engineering and maintenance teams, ensuring effective problem-solving, system optimization, and high operational performance across all properties. Partner with property teams to resolve customer issues, improve work-order productivity using Facility Manager data, and drive strategies informed by tenant satisfaction results. Implement engineering policies and lead portfolio-wide initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, and standardized best practices. Support R&M, utilities, and capital planning while driving consolidation of mechanical system projects, contracts, and procurement opportunities. Provide guidance on asbestos, indoor air quality, and other environmental programs; monitor regulatory changes and deliver required training. Coach regional and property-level engineering leaders; support hiring, training, performance management, and productivity oversight for engineering/maintenance teams. Strengthen preventive maintenance program adoption, set performance targets, and ensure portfolio-wide compliance with safety policies and training requirements. Lead energy tracking and reduction initiatives, set consumption targets, and partner with site teams to drive conservation efforts across the portfolio. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or engineering related field Minimum of ten years work experience at a senior level of engineering management in medical services or commercial office buildings or facilities management operations This is a remote role. East Coast location is preferred but open for the right candidate and willingness to travel Strong knowledge of a wide variety of utility management, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and life safety systems pertaining to commercial office or medical office buildings Significant experience leading, managing and coaching people. Proven team leadership and management ability and experience in leading team members with varying levels of education and mechanical maintenance backgrounds and technical operational experience. Knowledge of structural engineering issues as related to roofing systems, concrete repair and building curtain wall maintenance Strong working knowledge of applicable OSHA, NFPA, and EPA regulations and ability to incorporate such knowledge into operational and capital investment planning Strong computer proficiency and experience developing/utilizing complex Excel spreadsheets and internal databases of operational information Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future The estimated base salary range for this role is $135,000 - $165,000. Actual base pay may vary based on factors such as work location, skills, relevant experience, and business needs. In addition to base pay, employees at Ventas are eligible for performance-based incentives and comprehensive benefits.
