Full Description

Your Role As a Part-Time Assistant Teacher, your role is to support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. You will work early morning (opening), afternoon, and/or evening, contingent on operational needs. You will assist in daily classroom activities, help manage routines, and build strong, nurturing relationships with children. You are an important part of the teaching team and play a critical role in the success of the classroom. Your ResponsibilitiesClassroom Support • Assist in implementing daily lesson plans and learning activities designed by the Lead Teacher. • Support classroom routines, including transitions, meals, rest time, and clean-up. • Help prepare materials and set up learning centers that engage children’s curiosity. • Observe children’s behavior and development and share insights with the Lead Teacher. Child Engagement and Safety • Your role is to actively engage with children during play, learning, and daily care routines. • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment. • Supervise children closely to ensure safety and well-being at all times. • Promote positive social interactions and model respectful behavior. Team Collaboration • Communicate effectively with the Lead Teacher and other team members to ensure consistency and support in the classroom. • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities. • Offer ideas and input to improve classroom activities and promote a positive environment. Family Partnership • Greet families warmly and respectfully. • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. • Support a welcoming environment for all children and families. Your Qualifications • A genuine love for working with children. • At least 6 months of experience in a licensed childcare setting is required. • CDA or coursework in Early Childhood Education. • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). • Team-oriented, dependable, and eager to learn and grow.
