Teach Bible classes to students in grades 6-12, build relationships, and maintain an organized classroom environment.

Overview LifeWise Secondary Education teachers will demonstrate in-depth Bible knowledge and outstanding teaching abilities for students in grades 6-12. The ideal candidate is an active church participant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is caring, committed and proficient in teaching. Qualifications and Experience • Minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience in either a school or church setting • A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith • Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the "What We Believe" section of the the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith Job Description • Complete Initial and Ongoing Training • Complete the LifeWise Teacher Certification Course prior to teaching • Participate in the annual LifeWise Summit each year • Attend at least one Teachers' Lounge or one LifeWise Meet-Up per year • Stay up to date on training and updates by regularly checking LifeWise email • Teach LifeWise Classes • Utilize the LifeWise curriculum to lesson plan and map out curriculum customization • Apply LifeWise policies, procedures and resources • Implement age-appropriate lesson plans using only LifeWise curriculum • Invest in connecting with students through building relationships and praying for them regularly • Cultivate an organized and encouraging classroom environment through various teaching strategies and discipline that is redemptive in nature • Prioritize student engagement • Maintain Records • Keep accurate student attendance records • Maintain accurate class rosters including health concerns, special needs of students and photo permission as noted on parent permission slips • Prepare adequate lesson plans, information and materials for a substitute teacher • Maintain the Classroom • Establish a culture that fosters academic pursuits and a love of learning as a means to promote a spiritual growth • Maintain a clean, attractive, age appropriate and well-ordered classroom • Know procedures for dealing with emergency situations • Purchase classroom supplies as neede using funds provided by the program director • Communicate • Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community • Attend events as available or requested by the program director • Maintain ongoing dialogue with school personnel to stay apprised of class schedule changes and ensure student well-being • Build relationships with volunteers and keep them apprised of schedule changes • Submit regular updates, stories and photos to the program director • Promote and communicate LifeWise's religious mission in all duties and interactions, ensuring alignment with the organization's core values and beliefs Benefits • Retirement plan, including employer match LifeWise Academy's hiring practices and EEO Statement are fully in compliance with both federal and state law.
