Leading the non-dilutive funding strategy, including grant proposal development, submission management, and stakeholder communication.
Experience with U.S. federal grant programs (NIH, NSF, SBIR/STTR), scientific or technical writing, and successful grant awards.
Lifely is a Delaware-based healthtech startup developing an AI-powered peer-mentoring platform that helps diabetes patients feel supported, informed, and emotionally empowered throughout their health journey. We are building our prototype now, and we’re looking for someone who wants to join the early team and take full ownership of our grants and non-dilutive funding strategy. This is an equity-based role (8-12h/week) during the early stage. What This Role Is (Clear & Simple) You will be the person who helps Lifely secure its future funding: writing grants, managing submissions, organizing the calendar, talking to program officers, and shaping our overall funding roadmap. If you enjoy turning ideas into strong proposals and guiding startups through the U.S. grant landscape, this is exactly that kind of role — but at the founding level, not as a contractor. • Where Lifely Is Today 🚀 We completed discovery with clinicians, nurses, and chronic patients. • We have validated a real unmet need in chronic care and peer-support models. • Our prototype is in active development, using newest AI Agents technologies. • Our product and technical architecture are fully designed. • Our grants roadmap is ready (federal, state, and innovation programs). You join right at the moment when funding will define our next steps. • What You Will DoIdentify the most relevant grants and programs for Lifely • Write, structure, and refine strong proposal drafts • Translate scientific, behavioral, and technical concepts into clear stakeholders-friendly narratives • Validate budgets, timelines, milestones, and logic models to match grant-matching rules • Assemble full submission packages (Grants.gov, ASSIST, Research.gov, etc.) • Coordinate with the founders on content and strategy • Communicate with program officers when helpful • Lead the full process from draft → polished submission This role gives you full ownership of the non-dilutive funding function. 🎓 What Background Fits Best You likely have experience with: • NIH, NSF, PCORI, AHRQ, BARDA, or other U.S. grant programs • Research development or academic/clinical grant writing • SBIR/STTR processes • Scientific or technical writing at a high level • Structuring complex proposals independently At least one successfully awarded competitive grant is expected. You don’t need 20 years of experience — you need clarity, structure, and real familiarity with the submission process and desire to build a healthtech startup wth us. What We Offer Equity-Based Founding Employee Early Team Role (8-12 h/week). Please note: right now, this position is equity only, which reflects our early startup stage. You join as a founding owner of the non-dilutive funding function, shaping an important part of Lifely’s long-term strategy. Once we reach our post-MVP funding milestone, this role can transition into a paid part-time position while still retaining equity (10-25h full part time/depending on future negotiations). • Why Join LifelyYou will shape the financial backbone of a meaningful healthtech product dealing with one of most painful situation in the USA healthcare system. • You will work alongside a founder-led team passionate about neuroscience, patient experience, and digital health innovation. • Your contribution will directly impact the lives of people living with chronic conditions. • Fully remote. Flexible. Purpose-driven. • Possibility to get equity in the promising healthtech project (market interest validated!). If you feel aligned with the mission and the role, we’d be happy to connect.
