Manage construction projects from bidding through completion, coordinating with superintendents and customers to meet specifications and timelines.
Requires minimum 3 years construction industry experience, ability to read blueprints, prepare cost estimates, lead projects, and strong organizational and communication skills.
Job Summary Works directly with internal and external customers to prepare estimate packages for asphalt prep and paving as well as concrete prep and installation. Performs project management for commercial as well as INDOT and KYTC projects. Works with Superintendents to ensure projects are completed to customer specifications. Provides support to the customer from estimate to completion of the project including AR follow-up. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (will include but not limited to): • Looks for and Bids on projects as assigned. Utilizes daily publications, web sites and customer leads for projects to bid. • Orders and reviews plans and specifications from customer. • Works closely with all customers assigned to him/her. Works with the superintendent if the project has issues occurring that are above and beyond the scope of the project. • Sends bid(s) to customer and then follows up and tracks the results. • Verifies bid proposal matches the customer contract. • Prepares complete cost estimates for labor and material within set deadlines. • Works with scheduling to insure project is completed to customer specifications and timelines. • Plans, directs, coordinates, supervises and controls the execution of all aspects of the project per Libs Paving policies and procedures. Works with the superintendents to plan, organize and direct project activities. • Establishes project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of Libs Paving policy and contract specifications. • Communicates with Superintendents to discuss work procedures, resources, complaints and project problems. • Follows all policies and procedures established by Libs Paving Co., Inc. • Must be attention detail oriented. • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to determine work requirements. • Must be available for continuing education and training when required. • Maintains a high level of discipline and professionalism as a representative of Libs Paving Co. Qualifications, Education And Physical Demands • Must be self-motivated, positive in approach and convey an appropriate professional image. • Must promote the culture, core behaviors and core values of Libs Paving. • Must possess proven problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentations to customers as needed. • Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to develop processes and best practices. • Must have high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements. • Must have a Leadership Mindset. • Must have Attention to Detail with Good Organization Skills. • Must be dependable with good to excellent attendance and punctuality. • Minimum 3 years Construction industry experience preferred.
