Full Description

Perform computer programming tasks. Tasks may include website development, web programming, database development, or application testing. Work within a team under the supervision of a lead developer. Help implement and maintain custom applications and integration of applications. Follow established, internal development best practices and standards. This position supports the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) team in IT Application Development. Essential Functions and Responsibilities 1. Write clean, efficient code and participates in code reviews to ensure quality standards are maintained and development skills are hones. 2. Analyze code and identify bugs, using logical reasoning to resolve issues. Ability to seek guidance and feedback as needed. 3. Consistently deliver code on schedule and adhere to established processes. 4. Prioritize multiple tasks effectively to ensure timely completion of projects. 5. Participate constructively in code reviews, implementing feedback thoughtfully while displaying an understanding of industry best practices. Gives clear, respectful suggestions when reviewing peers. 6. Collaborate with individuals both within and outside of the team to gather requirements, implement solutions, and engage in peer code reviews and brainstorming sessions. 7. Maintain awareness of potential pitfalls in problem solving and respond with strategic foresight. 8. Deliver high-quality code, identify and address potential issues, and test application performance to ensure stability. 9. Actively contribute to team discussions, writes detailed documentation, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on requirements. 10. Contribute tangible ideas for cohesive and impactful application or process improvements. 11. Mentor junior developers, providing guidance on best practices and development processes. 12. Keep documentation updated, systematized, and readily accessible to the team. 13. Adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary and professional manner. 14. Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ. Qualifications and Credentials 1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, is required. 2. 2+ years of software development experience with proficiency in relevant programming languages, is required. 3. Back-End Expertise: Proficiency with server-side languages, specifically C# simple API design and implementation. 4. Database Expertise: Proficiency with creating and altering existing database data structures for an application. 5. Front-End Expertise: Proficiency in vueJS with responsive design. 6. Testing and Debugging Skills: Ability to perform thorough debugging. 7. Deployment Experience: Familiarity with cloud deployments (e.g., Azure DevOps). Abilities and Competencies Communication and Comprehension Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing English to support professional correspondence and collaboration. Strong organizational skills. Problem Solving Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to assess situations, evaluate information, and solve both routine and complex problems using sound judgment. Physical and Sensory Abilities Frequently required to perform desk-based work, including computer use and data entry.
