Description: As the Head of Operational Risk Management, Americas at Liberty Mutual Global Risk Solutions (GRS), you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight for our Operational Risk Management framework across the US, Canada, and Latin America business.Reporting directly to the Head of Operational Risk GRS, you will drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of operational risk strategies and frameworks to ensure robust risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting.In this leadership role, you will build and nurture senior stakeholder partnerships, shape policy, and lead cross-functional teams to enhance resilience and deliver business value across the organization.Oversee the design, implementation, and enhancement of the end-to-end Operational Risk Management framework, ensuring a holistic view of risk exposures across business functions and projects.Lead the annual Operational Risk planning process, ensuring the integration of risk insights into strategic decision-making at the highest level.Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Management and, where applicable, Legal Entity Risk Teams and Boards, providing regular updates on the overall operational risk profile and recommending robust risk mitigation strategies.Promote a culture of proactive risk management, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.Collaborate with key business leaders to integrate risk assessment into new initiatives, projects, and operational changes.Lead the production and strategic review of comprehensive risk reports for the GRS Operational Risk Management Committee, Management and other internal stakeholders, ensuring that insights are actionable and aligned with strategic objectives.Oversee the operation of risk governance structures, including the facilitation of key risk committees and forums, and maintain regular dialogue with regulators.Participate in the group-wide harmonization of operational risk management methodology and support the consolidation of enterprise operational risk management platforms.Monitor emerging regulatory risk developments, ensuring that the operational risk framework remains compliant with relevant requirements and reflects best practices in risk management.Enhance transparency and information-sharing across assurance functions including Compliance, Internal Audit, and Information Security.Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operational risk team, fostering an environment of collaboration, professional growth, and operational excellence.Build and maintain strong partnerships with senior stakeholders across business functions, ensuring risk insights are communicated effectively and integrated into strategic decision-making.Represent the risk function in executive meetings, industry forums, and regulatory discussions, reinforcing Liberty Mutual’s reputation as a leader in risk management. Requirements: Minimum 10 years progressive experience in operational risk management at a senior level, with responsibility for creating and executing risk management strategies.Insurance industry experience preferred, including knowledge of property and casualty business processes and controls.Proven a bility to build partnership with stakeholders at all levels across the organization.Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders across the organization.Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Compliance, Information Security, and Internal Audit, to achieve integrated risk management.Effective communication skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders.Ability to balance working in a transformational setting while contributing to an improved business as usual environment.Ability to lead high level work both independently and collaboratively.E xcellent presentation skills.Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor`s degree in a quantitative field and professional qualification in one or more areas of risk management or its equivalent, and 8-10 years of relevant experienceAdvanced degree (MBA or equivalent) and or professional risk management or finance qualification is highly preferred, in addition to industry experience in underwriting or financeManagement experience is highly preferredStrong written and verbal communication skills in both formal and informal settings, as well as proven ability to effectively present technical concepts to non-technical individuals within and outside of the organization are highly preferredAbility to foster and encourage teamwork and productive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels and across organizational lines highly preferred Benefits: Flexible Time Off Annual Accrual - days 20
