Description As a member of the Software Product Operations team, you will work across the organization to drive operational excellence across our strategy-to-execution ecosystem for the Product Owner/Experience organization, ensuring teams prioritize the right work, execute consistently and deliver measurable outcomes aligned to our US Retail Markets (USRM) vision and goals. The Director, Business Architecture leads the Business Architecture function within USRM's Software Product Operations team, accountable for defining, maturing, and communicating USRM’s business capability framework to strengthen alignment from strategy to product investment and delivery. This role ensures shared clarity on business capabilities, journey concepts, and role/operating model expectations—enabling consistent prioritization, reducing duplication, and improving cross-team alignment on what we are building and why. • *This position may have in-office requirements dependent upon candidate location** Key Accountabilities: North Star Journey & Capability Framework Leadership: • Own the vision, structure, and ongoing evolution of the North Star Journey and Capability framework. • Ensure the framework is actionable and consumable for Product, Experience, Engineering, and Business stakeholders. Business Capability Model (BCM) Definition & Maintenance: • Lead refresh and maintenance of the USRM business capability model (including taxonomy depth/structure as needed). • Establish standards and governance for capability definitions, maturity assessments, ownership, and change control to keep the model current and trusted. Capability Maturity & Strategic Linkage: • Define and operationalize an approach to assess capability maturity and identify gaps required to achieve the North Star. • Partner with portfolio and domain leaders to connect strategy, capability maturity needs, and investment planning (e.g., Business Priorities and roadmaps). Role Clarity, Operating Model, and Adoption: • Clarify and communicate how Business Architecture partners with Domains, POs/DPOs, business stakeholders, and delivery teams (roles, responsibilities, and engagement model). • Develop playbooks and stakeholder messaging to drive consistent understanding and adoption of journeys/capabilities in planning and delivery. Cross-Team Alignment & Stakeholder Management: • Serve as a key partner to Portfolio Management & Operations, Product Enablement, and Technology counterparts to ensure consistent strategy-to-execution alignment. • Facilitate alignment conversations across domains to resolve overlaps, reduce duplication, and improve end-to-end coherence of the product landscape. Qualifications • Excellent strategic, analytical, and problem solving skills. • Knowledge of agile development methodologies and value stream mapping among other process tools. • Experience working with technology. • Strong ability to understand linkages between strategy and technology and/or integrating technology with business strategy. • Ability to establish and build effective relationships across the organization. • Strong ability to select, develop, and engage staff, and to foster a collaborative environment. • Strong ability to adapt and address unique challenges in a collaborative and creative way. • Ability to exchange ideas and convey complex information clearly and concisely to technical and business leaders. • Strong ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders. • Strong experimental mindset to drive solutions amongst uncertainty. About Us Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
