Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing essential administrative support while ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment. You will assist with various tasks including patient scheduling, medical records management, and supporting clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care including POC testing, Injections, Venipuncture, medication administration, and collecting vitals. Responsibilities • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. • Manage patient scheduling and coordinate appointments effectively. • Perform medical collection duties, ensuring accurate billing and payment processing. • Maintain and update patient records using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and other EHR systems. • Verify insurance information and assist with insurance claims processing. • Review documentation for accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations. • Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and managing multi-line phone systems. • Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care. • Support the development of care plans in collaboration with clinical staff. • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area. Skills • Proficient in medical terminology and documentation review. • Experience with medical billing, coding (ICD coding), and collections. • Familiarity with health information management practices. • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency. • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient service. • Ability to handle clerical tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. • Bilingual skills are a plus to enhance communication with diverse patient populations. • Previous clinic or hospital experience is preferred, along with knowledge of dental terminology if applicable. • Strong typing skills including 10 key typing for data entry tasks.
