The Southern California Regional Rail Authority (Metrolink) seeks an experienced and strategic Public Relations professional to lead high-impact communications initiatives that elevate the agency’s public presence and engagement. This role requires a dynamic communicator with deep expertise in consumer-facing PR, strong media relationships, and the ability to manage high-visibility projects across transportation, travel, and government sectors. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute strategic public relations programs that enhance Metrolink’s reputation and connect with diverse audiences across Southern California and beyond. Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with media outlets at the local, regional, national, and industry levels to drive positive coverage and thought leadership. Provide expert guidance and real-time response during crisis situations, ensuring clear, accurate, and timely communication. Support large-scale public events and activations tied to major regional and international moments — including sports, entertainment, and civic milestones such as the Olympics and FIFA World Cup. Lead award submission strategies and recognition programs that highlight Metrolink’s leadership, innovation, and community impact. Develop and implement executive visibility initiatives, positioning senior leadership as trusted voices in transportation, sustainability, and public service. Qualifications: Proven success in consumer PR within transportation, travel, or public sector industries. Established media network in Southern California, with reach across national and industry-specific outlets. Demonstrated experience in crisis communications, event publicity, and reputation management. Strong writing, storytelling, and presentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners to deliver cohesive, results-driven campaigns.
