The rewards for performance are significant. As the Health Care Economics Analyst, you will perform critical research and investigation of key business problems. Using phenomenal analytical skills, you will develop and improve quantitative data analytics and set performance targets for the enterprise. As a subject matter expert, you will interpret and analyze clinical data from various sources and recommend best approaches for its consolidation. You will lead a team in identifying potential areas for medical cost improvements and alternative pricing strategies. There are new challenges and bigger rewards around every turn. Primary Responsibilities Positions in this function will be responsible for researching and investigating key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and healthcare costs data. Develop and improve quantitative data analytics and set performance targets. The main responsibilities will include: • Analyzes and Investigates using pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise • Investigates non-standard requests and problems, with some assistance from others • Works exclusively within a specific knowledge area • Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet deadlines • Provides explanations and information to others on topics within area of expertise You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, pharmacoeconomics, health services research, economics, health economics, public health or a related quantitative discipline • 2+ years of programming experience with SAS and/or SQL in a professional and/or educational setting • Experience with data reporting and analysis • Intermediate Excel skills Preferred Qualifications • Experience within healthcare industry • Reporting skills using tools like Python, PowerBI • All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $58,800 to $105,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
