Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or related field, or equivalent experience is required. A minimum of 2 years in cybersecurity or IT security operations is necessary, along with effective communication skills.
The Digital Modernization Health IT group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Zero Trust Cyber Security Analyst. This is a fantastic opportunity to work remotely, as well as use your expertise helping protect our military families, supporting the Veterans Administration (VA) Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) Program. As a Zero Trust Cyber Security Analyst, you will be assisting in assessing the design, implementation, maintenance and reporting of the VA’s Zero Trust architecture, to ensure the highest level of security across VA’s digital assets. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and enhance the Zero Trust framework, minimizing risk exposure and protecting sensitive information from potential threats. Primary Responsibilities: Serve as a customer-facing liaison for the Zero Trust Program, fostering strong relationships with system owners and stakeholders. Collaborate directly with system owners to collect detailed technical and procedural insights. Interpret Zero Trust principles and convert them into customized, actionable strategies for diverse system environments. Complete and maintain intake documentation, meeting calendars, follow-up communications, and progress tracking tools. Ensure that baselines, Business Gap Analyses (BGAs), and implementation plans are informed by authentic customer feedback—not just automated assessments. Contribute to implementation deliverables by integrating verified customer data into solution packages. Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to minimizing security vulnerabilities. Clear and effective communicator, capable of translating complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences. Self-motivated and collaborative, thriving in dynamic, compliance-driven government settings Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related discipline—or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in cybersecurity, IT security operations, or systems analysis. Proven ability to present, communicate, and engage with customers effectively. Preferred experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platforms such as ServiceNow or eMASS. Understanding of NIST 800-53 Must be a US Citizen. Preferred Qualifications Forrester Zero Trust Strategy Certification, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or other related certifications. Prior experience in a similar role or within the cybersecurity domain. Experience with eMASS. VA directive and policy knowledge. Familiarity with industry tools and solutions that support Zero Trust architectures, such as software-defined perimeter (SDP) tools, identity and access management solutions, and micro-segmentation technologies.
