Description Senior Project Manager Leidos Engineering is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our talented team in the Power Delivery Solutions (PDS) division. In this role, you will lead dynamic project teams focused on substation engineering projects for a variety of electric utility clients across the Northern United States. PDS is dedicated to providing exceptional consulting services to both public and investor-owned electric utilities, specializing in comprehensive engineering design for electrical transmission, substations, and distribution projects. Primary Responsibilities • Lead project teams independently to deliver high-quality engineering designs for electric infrastructure projects. • Be accountable for project performance and maintain comprehensive reporting. • Manage project costs, schedules, and scope effectively, developing recovery plans as necessary. • Ensure compliance with all contracts and deliverables. • Collaborate with Engineering Leads and Managers to ensure alignment and execution of client commitments. • Implement and document adherence to quality control processes to guarantee excellence. • Directly interface with clients and internal management to address issues and report on progress, costs, and project timelines. • Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, engineering disciplines, subcontractors, and support staff. • Prepare bid documents and develop accurate cost estimates and proposals. • Complete all invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable in a timely manner. • Identify opportunities for business development. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum of five years of relevant Project Management experience. • Familiarity with the electric power industry and an understanding of business dynamics within power delivery services. • Proven ability to manage project finances, budgets, proposals, and schedules. • Strong organizational and leadership skills to plan and oversee technical project efforts. • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency in project management software, such as MS Project or P6. • Strong MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). • Periodic travel is required (less than 5%), and candidates must possess a valid US driver's license. • This position requires hybrid work attendance (2-3 days in office) at one of our locations in Walled Lake, MI or Chicago, IL. Remote work may be considered for candidates in the greater Columbus, OH area with some localized travel. Preferred • PMP Certification (or a commitment to obtain within the first year). • Direct experience in electric power infrastructure projects. • Proven track record of success in a team-oriented consulting environment. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. • Experience supervising project teams.
