Environmental Services Manager Full-Time | Senior Living Community About the Opportunity Are you a skilled maintenance professional who takes pride in creating safe, beautiful, and well-run environments? As the Environmental Services Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of building maintenance, preventative programs, safety systems and facility standards in a supportive senior living community. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem solving, and leading operations with purpose. What You’ll Do Maintenance & Building Operations • Oversee all maintenance services to ensure the residence meets or exceeds building standards, codes and safety expectations. • Perform routine repairs, servicing and inspections to keep equipment, furnishings, fixtures and grounds in excellent condition. • Manage the daily operation of building systems including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, communication and security systems. • Develop and lead a comprehensive preventative maintenance program with scheduled inspections and life-safety testing. • Respond quickly to service requests and maintain accurate maintenance records. • Collaborate with the marketing team to prepare suites for new residents, ensuring each space is refreshed, repaired and move-in ready. • Support teams and residents with maintenance needs, moving equipment and supplies as needed. • Oversee service contracts and vendor compliance, ensuring all external work meets regulations and documentation requirements. • Maintain careful control over all master keys and building access systems. • Perform seasonal and exterior work such as snow removal, gardening, salting and response to environmental issues. • Participate in safety, infection control, fire prevention and pest management programs. Leadership & Collaboration • Serve as a key member of the residence leadership team, contributing to planning, operations and community goals. • Participate in operational meetings and quality improvement initiatives. • Provide input into policies, procedures and long-term improvements. • Work collaboratively across departments to enhance resident satisfaction, operational efficiency and occupancy success. Financial Oversight • Provide input into capital planning and operational budgets for the maintenance department. • Manage departmental finances including inventory, purchasing and cost control. • Support initiatives that help generate revenue or reduce expenses. • Assist with monthly variance reporting and forecasting. What You Bring • Minimum Grade 12 education. • Certificate in Building Operations, or 2 to 3 years of maintenance experience. • Knowledge of WHMIS and First Aid. • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel and experience with online ordering and building system platforms. • Ability to read manuals, drawings, audit standards and technical documentation. • Strong communication, leadership and teamwork skills. • Ability to organize, multitask, meet deadlines and handle emergency situations confidently. • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities. • Physically able to meet the demands of a hands-on maintenance role.
