A Director of Community Outreach for a group of behavioral health facilities is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing strategies to increase patient referrals, grow market share, and enhance the facility's overall reputation and revenue. This role combines sales, marketing, and community relations, focusing on building and maintaining strong relationships with key healthcare providers and organizations. This is a player coach role, where you are accountable to increase referrals for all behavioral health businesses and oversee two other Community Outreach Liaisons that support ilearn wellness group in Newton, MA and Comprehensive Counseling in NYC. Collaborate and provide input to marketing on strategy to support business development activities. Key responsibilities Strategic planning and market analysis • Create and execute business development plans to achieve company objectives, increase admissions, and drive revenue growth. • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and areas for growth. • Develop strategies for specific service lines, such as partial hospitalization versus psychotherapy, and targeting specific age groups. Referral source management • Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with key referral sources, including physicians, hospitals, therapists, and social workers. • Serve as the primary liaison for community and professional referral partners. • Manage the account management process to ensure customer needs are met and relationships are maintained. Marketing and public relations • Represent the facility at professional functions, conferences, and community events to communicate its mission and services. • Develop community education programs to highlight the facility's programs and expertise. Team leadership and management • Supervise and direct the business development staff, including hiring, training, and performance management. • Provide guidance and coaching to the outreach team on identifying new referral sources and developing relationships. • Collaborate with internal departments, including admissions, clinical, and leadership, to ensure seamless execution of strategies. Financial and administrative • Manage the departmental budget based on business development plans. • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports to executive leadership on marketing results, referral trends, and ROI. This is a salaried position with a minimum 40 hour a week commitment, Monday through Friday. We offer a generous package of paid time off including vacation time, sick time, and holidays. The candidate must be willing to commit to Newton and Wellesley and surrounding areas regularly and have reliable transportation. Up to 1 trip a month to NYC. Travel is up to 80% as needed. Base Salary $100K-$110K + Bonus Opportunities. Qualifications • Education: A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is typically required, a master's degree is preferred. • Experience: • * 7-10 years of experience in healthcare business development or marketing, with a focus on the behavioral health or substance abuse treatment fields. • Prior leadership or supervisory experience required. • Demonstrated experience with direct sales, building referral relationships, and developing managed care agreements. • Skills: • * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. • Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities. • Expertise in sales and marketing principles. • Proficiency with CRM software, preferably Salesforce. • Knowledge of the local healthcare marketplace, insurance plans, and regulatory requirements.
