In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and processing progress data for students receiving Special Education services. The IEP Writer synthesizes that data to compose a State compliant individual education plan that reflects student progress and meets each student's needs. The IEP Writer will focus on individualizing each IEP to support the specific needs of the student, ensuring a consistent standard for documentation of the highest quality. To be successful, you’ll need to be detail-oriented and initiative-taking. We need a broad thinker who can make suggestions, take constructive feedback with a good attitude and without pushback, and then go out and personally execute with diligence. We need a professional who has proven success in maintaining compliance within a highly regulated environment. If you enjoy ensuring every detail is accounted for to ensure student success and have experience working with IEPs, we’re probably a good fit. This position is full-time and work from home. Job Duties • Serve all stakeholders with integrity, humility, and joy while consistently modeling the importance of both task competency and relationships; • Participate in Company events, activities, and meetings with a smile and an infectious, great attitude; • Write high quality, comprehensive, and compliant Individual Education Plans that outline the specialized instruction, accommodations, services, and goals for assigned students; • Process new student files by reviewing incoming documents, communicating with families about our program, and initiating student evaluations when appropriate; • Maintain impeccable records about incoming students on IEPs to properly facilitate a successful transition to online school; • Liaise with related service providers and parents to ensure proper evaluation of students and that the information received from such sources is properly captured to support student success; • Coordinate with teachers to ensure the students performance is properly captured in the present levels, accommodations and goals to support success; • Understand and clearly communicate with parents so they understand their rights, responsibilities, and pertinent details of student IEPs; • Review special education documentation, perform audits, evaluate routine quality reviews, and provide reports and data to management; • Utilize and monitor department and company systems to ensure all students and families receive appropriate notifications, services and interventions; • Document accommodations, develop and maintain processes, explain implementation techniques, and otherwise train and support Special Education teachers and other staff; • Provide ongoing guidance, feedback, and support for teachers and staff; and • All other duties as assigned. Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Strong interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to consistently lead and serve others with humility, kindness, empathy, and joy; • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; • Expert knowledge and understanding of the intricacies of IEPs and related Special Education policies; • Excellent organizational and analytical skills; • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy, team environment and juggle multiple tasks; • Strict attention to detail; and • Ability to achieve daily performance metrics. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education required; Master’s degree in Special Education preferred; • Ability to obtain Special Education licenses in AZ, CO, and WA; current Special Education license in AZ, CO, or WA preferred; • Minimum of three (3) years of special education experience; • Minimum of two (2) years experience documenting IEPs; • Proficiency in various software programs related to IEP documentation similar but not limited to eIEPPro or Enrich; • Strong experience with Mac OS, Google Workspace, and Asana preferred; • Private, distraction-free, professional remote work environment with high-speed internet; and • Ability to pass required background checks.
