Full Description

Title: Part-time Communication & Community Manager (Bay Area) Location: San Francisco Bay Area (offline-first; async with Shenzhen HQ) Company: leapwatt (Shenzhen, China). No US entity; independent contractor. About leapwatt leapwatt is creating the Cocowa universe—where virtual stories become lived experiences and Developers co-create with a new kind of alive-feeling companion. Early go-to-market focuses on early adopters in AI/robotics and developer communities. Role overview Be our first on-the-ground communicator and community builder in the Bay Area. You’ll develop local partnerships, run small, high-signal gatherings, activate pilot programs, and connect builders to our online communities—then bring clear field insights back to Shenzhen. What you’ll do • Visit and nurture partners: makerspaces, labs, AI/robotics groups, hardware startups, university clubs. • Host intimate meetups, demos, and hack nights; bridge attendees to Discord/Reddit. • Coordinate early-access/pilot programs; manage simple logistics and schedules. • Run reproducible demos (scripts/configs/logs) and capture “aliveness” moments worth sharing. • Build relationships with technical community leaders and niche media. • Deliver concise, actionable feedback memos from the field. What you’ll bring • Strong Bay Area network across AI/robotics, hardware/maker, and developer ecosystems. • 3+ years in community management, DevRel, partnerships, or communications (startup or developer-tool context ideal). • Comfortable with hands-on demos and basic technical workflows (GitHub, repro steps, logs). • Excellent communicator; organized, self-directed; effective across time zones. Details • Part-time contractor (10–20 hrs/week to start); local travel; some evenings/weekends. • Competitive hourly/retainer + approved local event/travel expenses.
