Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an HR Generalist. In this role, you will be responsible for executing a broad range of human resource functions to support staff and organizational operations. This is an in-office position that requires strong knowledge of employment law, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture. The HR Generalist will manage recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and support payroll and benefits administration, ensuring HR practices align with the mission and values of Leaps & Bounds. They will play a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture while aligning HR practices with the mission and values of Leaps & Bounds. Core Responsibilities: The HR Generalist is responsible for managing essential human resources functions that support agency operations and staff development. This includes coordinating recruitment efforts, screening applicants, and facilitating onboarding for both administrative staff and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), along with conducting background and reference checks. The role involves maintaining personnel files, ensuring documentation meets compliance standards, and serving as the primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries and conflict resolution. The HR Generalist partners with third-party HR/legal resources for complex matters, supports performance management processes, and oversees HR-related training coordination and recordkeeping. They ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations such as FMLA, OFLA, ADA, and HIPAA. Additionally, the HR Generalist serves as a backup for payroll processing, assists with benefits administration and reporting, and helps promote staff engagement and retention. Other responsibilities include representing the agency at community events, contributing to quarterly newsletter content, and performing general office management tasks as needed. Skills: -Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating warmth, professionalism, and clarity -Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Google Drive, Therap, Zoom, Adobe Acrobat -Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and integrity -Solid understanding of employment laws and HR compliance (FMLA, OFLA, ADA, HIPAA) -Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively -Customer and client-focused approach to service delivery -Ability to take initiative and work independently while supporting team goals -Flexibility and composure in fast-paced or high-pressure situations -Ethical conduct and personal credibility in decision-making -Technical capacity to navigate HR systems and digital platforms -Respectful and compassionate demeanor when working with diverse populations -Ability to coordinate and track training and development activities -Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check -Ability to work a flexible schedule for events and community involvement -Maintains high standards for work areas, documentation, and appearance We offer competitive compensation packages along with benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
