Position Summary: LEE seeks a highly motivated, data-driven recruiter and relationship builder to serve as the Manager, National Candidate Recruitment (Temporary). This role is responsible for the direct execution of LEE's national candidate recruitment and pipeline-building strategy across an assigned portfolio of regions. The Manager will be the primary engine for identifying, cultivating, and inspiring LEE members to pursue elected leadership. Reporting to the Senior Director, Elected Leadership Recruitment and Pipeline, you will own the end-to-end recruitment process, from designing targeted outreach plans and hosting engaging events to leveraging member data for continuous improvement. Success in this role requires a strong orientation toward measurable results, operational excellence, and a commitment to ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for members as they transition into coaching or campaign support. The Manager, National Candidate Recruitment (Temporary) is an hourly, full-time, temporary position with an end date of 11/27/2026. Position Location: Remote Travel Requirements: Up to 20% - travel regionally or nationally to in-person events may occasionally be required Responsibilities: Candidate Recruitment & Pipeline Building - 40% • Execute LEE's national candidate recruitment and pipeline-building strategy across an assigned portfolio of regions, ensuring consistency, quality, and measurable progress toward long-term sustainability • Implement cultivation and recruitment plans that leverage member data and insights from past efforts-continuously refining approaches to achieve greater impact • Engage members through digital outreach, events, workshops, and partnerships, working closely with cross-functional teams to inspire them to pursue elected leadership • Partner with the Director, Elected Leadership Pathways, to ensure seamless handoff of recruited members into Elected Leadership coaching or directly into campaign partnership with the Elected Leadership Campaign team Data Management & Operational Support - 30% • Manage reporting systems to provide actionable insights into the health, effectiveness, and sustainability of the candidate pipeline • Ensure timely, accurate data management in Salesforce, team trackers, and related databases, to inform decisions and advance team goals • Leverage LEE platforms, including Tableau and Salesforce, to organize and maintain quality member records that strengthen recruitment, pipeline building, and coaching efforts Partnerships & Innovation - 20% • Support the Director, Elected Leadership Pathways to test innovative approaches that strengthen recruitment effectiveness and efficiency • Document and share lessons learned with the cross-functional recruitment team to drive continuous refinement of strategies • Collaborate with Member Partnerships team to highlight elected office as one of the most effective levers for lasting community change Special Projects - 10% • Engage in team-level, org-wide, or cross-team special projects as assigned by manager or designee • Provide short-term coverage of other Manager-level duties during a leave, vacancy, or PTO Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or commensurate years of work experience. If you do not hold a Bachelor's degree an additional 4 years of relevant experience is required. If you hold an Associate's degree an additional 2 years of relevant experience is required. • 3+ years of relevant work experience in a combination of student, membership-based, campaign, or K-12/higher-education recruitment, sales, or civic leadership; including, but not limited to, electoral campaign management, policymaking, membership-based organizing, and/or community organizing • Demonstrated experience designing and executing recruitment campaigns that inspire actions, ideally in a civic engagement or political context • Demonstrated ability to show initiative, flexibility, and innovation in problem-solving in pursuit of ambitious goals • Proven ability to build and leverage authentic relationships and inspire action across diverse audiences • Demonstrated orientation to data with a strong attention to analysis, details, and leveraging recruitment metrics and trends • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a geographically dispersed team • Strong, demonstrated commitment to LEE's mission, core values, and theory of change Preferred Qualifications • Strong proficiency in managing CRM and data systems • Demonstrated marketing skills Physical Requirements & Work Demands: • This position is primarily a sedentary role working with colleagues based around the country using remote technologies. • The person in this position will need to have the ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities. • Occasional evening and/or weekend work is required. Pay and Benefits The position level for this role is Manager 1 and the corresponding hourly pay range for this position is $31.49-$46.96. Pay is competitive and based upon relevant experience and cost of labor for your location.
