We hire the best to provide the best service. Le'fant is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to support operations at The Charleston Digital Hub in the Charleston, SC area. This is a remote position and can be done from anywhere in the U.S. The is a Junior level position and the salary will range from 48-58K depending on experience. Description: As a System Engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience to streamline our software development life cycle from requirements to monitoring in production. You’ll lead efforts to incorporate open-source tools, automation, and cloud resources to cut down on tedious, boring tasks and free up the teams to do what they do best – innovate. You’ll implement continuous integration and delivery to limit manual testing and troubleshooting. This is an opportunity to broaden your skillset into areas like automation, cloud-based development, and open-source tools. As a technical leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to build solutions to help your customers meet their toughest challenges. Requirements: You Have: • Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. • Must Live in the US and have maintained a permanent residence in the US for at least the last 3 consecutive years (36 months) • A bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or other engineering or technical discipline OR 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education. • 1+ years supporting Linux systems engineering efforts in system design and evaluation, solution engineering, software development, or system administration • 1+ years of experience as an administrator for one of the following container platforms: Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and/or EKS • 1+ years of experience with advanced scripting languages, including how to write infrastructure as code and the development of custom scripts to automate capabilities including the use of Ansible, Python, Bash, and Terraform • Experience with a complex build system • Knowledge of Agile methodologies or the software development life cycle (SDLC) Nice If You Have: • Experience with developing back-end software applications • Experience with leveraging Cloud service providers, including AWS and Azure, to create automated DevSecOps pipelines • Experience with configuring an Opensearch cluster and managing index lifecycle • Knowledge of security scanning tools, configuring their use and working with teams to fix vulnerabilities • Knowledge of Java EEO Statement: It has been and will continue to be a fundamental philosophy and policy of Le’fant not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion sex, gender, sexual orientation, sexual gender, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, parental status, marital status, citizenship, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, military status, veteran status or any other protected category with respect to recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, and other terms and conditions of employment Pay Transparency There are many factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. Annual salary is just one component of Le'fant's total compensation package. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
