The Credential Processing Assistant will review transcripts for authenticity and process academic records. They will also assist with mentoring new staff and handling fee waiver requests and appeals.
A high school diploma is required along with two years of office experience, including data entry. Advanced education and customer service experience are preferred.
Overview LSAC’s mission is to advance law and justice by promoting access, equity, and fairness in law school admission and supporting the learning journey from prelaw through practice. Pay rate: $18 to $20/hr, depending on experience The JD Credential processing assistant will review transcripts for authenticity, scans, keys, modifies, and/or verifies academic record information from credentials information against applicant electronic files. They will assist as necessary with all aspects of JD Credential Processing work to meet company needs, including mentoring new or temporary staff, assisting with the processing of academic record forms and letters of recommendation as needed. They are responsible for all aspects of the processing of applicant fee waiver requests and appeals. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. The individual employed in this position will be required to: Develops and maintains an understanding of all JD Credential Processing policies and procedures Processes transcripts by opening mail, performing required visual edits for authenticity and legibility, scanning into an image storage database, and entering grades and credits electronically. Edits, updates, changes and/or corrects information related to transcripts. Prints correspondence related to transcript processing and prepares for mailing. Assists with answering questions for new hires and reviewing their work. Assists with the processing of the miscellaneous work of the group, as requested by the manager or coordinators, including the processing of letters of recommendation, academic record forms, fee waiver Requests, fee waiver appeals, and user acceptance testing. Works with credential processing leads, coordinator(s), and manager(s) as necessary to resolve issues that arise and seeks advice from them as necessary. Competencies Strong written and verbal communication skills. Embraces a forward-thinking mindset, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and creativity. Must develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of JD Credential Assembly Service transcript summarization and processing policies. Able to perform large amounts of data entry with strict attention to detail and high accuracy. Comfortable with multi-tasking and staying current with technologies that benefit JD Credential staff and our customers. Must be a quality-conscious team player. Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years’ experience in an office environment to include word processing skills and data entry experience required. Advanced education beyond high school and two-years of prior customer service experience in a high-volume role to include data entry and remote operations preferred. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Position Type This is a non-exempt, full time (37.5 hours per week) position. The LSAC standard business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. ET. The position may require overtime or weekend work as needed. Work Environment This job operates in a remote and professional office environment. Whether remote or in-office, this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Travel Requirements There is no travel expected for this position.
