Electrical Instructor/Facilities Manager (Daylight Position) Laurel Institute of Technology is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team in a unique dual role: Electrical Instructor and Facilities. This is a full-time daylight position offering a diverse set of responsibilities centered on technical training and facilities management. Work Schedule & Hours This role offers a consistent Monday through Friday daylight schedule: Instruction Hours (Monday - Thursday): 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM Maintenance Hours (Monday - Thursday): 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM Maintenance/Facilities Day (Friday): 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Electrical Instructor Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing the next generation of skilled electricians through engaging, practical, and theory-based instruction. Hands-on and Classroom Training: Deliver comprehensive training in core electrical competencies. Core Curriculum: Instruction focused on: o Motor Control Systems o Industrial Installations and Maintenance o Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) o Fundamentals of Residential and Commercial Wiring Student Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to students to ensure successful learning outcomes and career readiness. Facility Manager Responsibilities You will oversee the functionality and appearance of our facilities, ensuring a safe and optimal learning environment. Project and Contractor Coordination: o Act as the primary point of contact and coordinate activities with external contractors during major construction and renovation projects. o Supervise subcontractors responsible for key services, including landscaping, cleaning, major repairs, and new construction. General Building Maintenance: o Perform essential general repairs across the facility (e.g., light plumbing, minor electrical fixes, changing light fixtures/ballasts). o Assist with light cleaning and facility organization as needed. Staff Coordination: Collaborate closely with Laurel staff and administration to identify, prioritize, and address all general maintenance needs promptly. Qualifications and Requirements Instructor Requirements: Minimum Field Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of documented, relevant field experience as a licensed/certified electrician or equivalent. Preferred Credentials (One or more of the following is highly desired): o Completion of a recognized Apprenticeship Program o Relevant NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) Credentials o An Associate-level degree or equivalent technical training in a related electrical field. General Requirements: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with students, staff, and contractors.
