Job Description Job Summary The Senior CSDM/CMDB Engineer (Sustainability Focus) is responsible for the design, implementation, and governance of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Common Service Data Model (CSDM), with a strategic emphasis on improving the sustainability and environmental performance of the organization's IT operations. This role ensures data accuracy and completeness to drive operational efficiencies, reduce environmental impact, and support corporate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals. Key Responsibilities • Contribute to discussions for remediation of legacy technical debt and redesign workflows to out-of-the-box (OOB) standards. • Oversee automation strategies for record creation, validation, and relationship modeling. • Support complex troubleshooting for catalog, workflow, and data modeling issues. • Partner with internal development teams for shared backend changes. Required Experience • 5+ years implementing CSDM in enterprise-scale ServiceNow environments. • Deep knowledge of CSDM 4.0+ and CMDB structures, lifecycle states, and dependency mapping. • Experience driving alignment of ITSM practices to OOB standards. • Proven ability to design large-scale automation for data integrity. • Demonstrated engineering mindset with the ability to design efficient, scalable workflows by deeply understanding ServiceNow platform capabilities, CSDM architecture, and CMDB data relationships. • Proficiency in process alignment, ensuring workflows, data models, and ownership structures are consistent across CSDM, CMDB, ITSM, and intake practices. • Background in governance frameworks, intake redesign, or cross-team architecture alignment. • Experience collaborating within multi-vendor programs and internal platform teams. • Demonstrated proficiency in Service Mapping, including both tagged-based and discovery mapping approaches, supporting accurate alignment of application services and technical CIs within enterprise-scale environments.
