We are driven by our core values: respect, innovation, and collaboration. About the Role The Attorney Research & Support Analyst is an integral part of Latham’s Financial Analysis team. This role will be responsible for providing origination and proliferation credit support to the firm’s partners to help them accurately record and capture the financial impacts of their work on their Brown Books, as well as managing ad-hoc credit questions, report queries, and general proliferation and origination credit requests according to the firm’s credit policies. This role will be located in our Global Services Office in downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. Responsibilities & Qualifications Other key responsibilities include: Conducting extensive new client research to identify related entities and relationships with firm lawyers by interrogating data from internal systems and external search databases, as well as internet searches and other sources, where needed, in order to make a sound assessment of which parties to include Preparing client and attorney lists for partner Parallel O credit submissions by investigating client financial history and lawyer statuses to determine and justify relevance Researching and inputting DUNS numbers, SIC codes, and other identifying data to existing and future client records into the appropriate databases Processing Client Credit Council approvals to coordinate, action, and communicate outcomes to the partners appropriately according to the required credit setup required Identifying and managing credit setups requiring the creation of new matters and time transfers, coordinating with NBI and Billing teams, and explaining potential partner Brown Book impacts of the same Proactively providing outreach to attorneys for clients and matters missing credits, including conducting relevant research and analysis beforehand Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains We’d love to hear from you if you: Exhibit well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm Possess the ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus Demonstrate the ability to work independently to research, analyze, and develop recommendations And have: A bachelor's degree A minimum of two (2) years of related research and analytical experience Knowledge and skill in utilizing databases, such as S&P Capital IQ, S&P Capital IQ Pro, Orbis and Lexis+ a plus Benefits & Additional Information Successful candidates will not only be provided with an outstanding career opportunity and welcoming environment, but will also be provided with a generous total compensation package with bonuses awarded in recognition of both individual and firm performance.
