Bachelor’s or master’s degree with 7-9 years relevant experience in statistics, epidemiology, or public health, advanced programming skills, healthcare data experience, and ability to pass a public trust background check.
Description: • Access and analyze complex datasets from various sources, manipulate datasets and perform quality checks, applying statistical and analytical methods • Use Python or SQL and Databricks to conduct analyses; interpret, summarize and present findings to relevant stakeholders • Ensure data accuracy and identify opportunities for process improvement • Develop and implement statistical and analytical methods to deliver insights • Design and create advanced visualizations to effectively communicate complex data insights • Present complex data insights clearly to both technical and non-technical large audiences • Develop and deliver trainings, project updates, and presentations on NHSN work • Evaluate and advise on analytic methodologies; provide results and recommendations verbally and in writing to clients, management, and staff • Serve as a key contributor to project planning, development, and implementation • Execute complex tasks independently and mentor junior team members • Analyze client needs and translate them into formal requirements; leverage innovative approaches to established and emerging analytic trends • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, software advancements, and best practices for analytics • Foster strategic growth in analytics capabilities within the Data Science Division while promoting technical learning and skill development among colleagues Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree and at least nine (9) years of relevant experience in Statistics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, or related field; or master’s degree and at least seven (7) years of relevant experience • Advanced proficiency in a programming language such as Python, SQL, or R. (If advanced proficiency is in R, proficiency in an additional language or analytic software such as Python, SQL, or Databricks as well) • Experience working independently and collaboratively on complex tasks within the job function • Experience managing large data sets, moving and merging data files from different platforms, cleaning and aggregating data, and performing quality control • Experience with quality-assurance testing or user-acceptance testing involving healthcare data • Excellent attention to detail and critical-thinking skills • Ability to successfully complete a Position of Public Trust Level 5 background investigation • Experience working with healthcare data sets, including standards for healthcare terminology (such as LOINC, SNOMED, and RxNorm) and clinical concepts (preferred) • Knowledge of and/or experience with large data-set analysis for CDC, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, or other public-health entity (preferred) • Knowledge of and/or experience with clinical workflow concepts, public health, or healthcare delivery (preferred) Benefits: • remote work arrangements • flexible remote work • in-person collaboration during annual company meeting • equal-opportunity employer
