Collaborating closely with customers and internal teams, you will provide real-time problem-solving to customer challenges and to enhance our products. In this role, you will directly contribute to the design and development of next generation Lam sensor products for autonomous operations as part of the Equipment Intelligence team. You will be part of the future direction of the semiconductor industry. What you’ll do We are seeking a top-tier candidate for camera/machine vision integration and testing for our products. The ideal candidate for this position will work in a cross functional role interacting with various engineering teams and vendors to develop the required infrastructure for accurate and effective testing and analysis. The candidate is also expected to support field teams either virtually or by traveling to customer site as required. Responsible for verifying that the camera / machine vision product meets its performance and productivity success criteria. • Perform comprehensive optical, image sensor, and image quality characterization • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to identify, drive, and validate camera and sensor data capture and processing improvements in the hardware and software • Plan and execute cutting edge research to advance image and video analytics on semiconductor equipment. • Mine and analyze video data sets to improve Lam Research products. • Perform hands-on test and validation utilizing lab equipment for characterization of the performance of the electrical/ electro-mechanical systems. • Debug optical, electrical, and mechanical issues during camera module development • Maintain a high degree of customer engagement including face-to-face and international travel to customer sites supporting near term product releases and solve customer issues. • Work in a cleanroom lab and/or customer semiconductor fab environment. Who we’re looking for Minimum Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field with 6+ years of experience; or a PhD with 3+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience. • Strong experience with image processing, computer vision and computational imaging algorithms and associated libraries • Expertise with lens-based imaging systems/ camera calibration methods/ scripting languages such as Matlab or Python/ projective geometry and geometric imaging optics • Familiar with software test methodologies, Design of Experiments, and a passion for testing • Comfortable traveling up to 25% of the time. Preferred qualifications • Prior product design and technical engineer experience is beneficial. • Experience with Python computer programming and the scientific Python Stack. • Experience with C/C++. • Working knowledge of network troubleshooting tools • Experience with thermal image characterization and/or spectroscopy • Experience in areas such as image classification and image segmentation • Experience with streaming video analytics over a network. • Ideal candidate will have a background understanding in semiconductor processing • In this role you will partner with other subject matter experts and work with a cross functional team of sensor HW, EE integration, system software and algorithm designers to build meaningful and representative test systems and prototypes. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
