Overview: We are seeking a Principal Data & Solutions Architect to lead the design and development of scalable, enterprise-wide data and solution architecture. This strategic, high-impact role will shape and drive initiatives in data governance, modernization, and AI integration while managing a talented team of developers and engineers. What You’ll Do: Leadership & Oversight • Lead and mentor a team of 7 direct reports • Allocate resources, manage timelines, and drive accountability for enterprise data and AI initiatives. • Oversee departmental budgets and ensure effective use of operational funding. Data Architecture • Define and implement scalable and secure data architecture solutions across cloud and on-premise environments. • Create and optimize full-cycle database architectures aligned with business needs. • Collaborate cross-functionally to design and deploy enterprise-grade data models and integration patterns. • Develop T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support application development. • Troubleshoot performance issues in real-time and implement solutions. Enterprise Solutions • Serve as the technical lead for enterprise solutions including Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SSRS, and SQL Server. • Drive the transition from legacy systems to modern, high-performance platforms. • Implement and optimize reporting and automation using SSIS, Power BI, and related tools. Data Governance • Lead the development and implementation of data governance policies and standards, including data ownership, access controls, and retention strategies. • Build and maintain data catalogs and metadata repositories to ensure transparency and discoverability. • Implement audit trails, data loss prevention tools, and other monitoring mechanisms to monitor and enforce data governance compliance AI Strategy & Execution • Guide the adoption of AI technologies into enterprise systems and data pipelines. • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate and implement AI tools aligned with ethical and business standards. • Educate internal stakeholders on AI capabilities, governance, and best practices. What We’re Looking For: Required Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) with 7+ years’ experience, OR Bachelor’s with 10+ years in data architecture/technology leadership. • Proven leadership in enterprise-level architecture, solution design, and data modernization. • Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Power Platform, and T-SQL development. • Strong understanding of data governance tools and practices. • Familiarity with privacy and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). • Experience mentoring technical staff and leading cross-functional projects. • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in hybrid or multi-cloud architecture. • Exposure to modern development frameworks: microservices, Kubernetes, serverless. • Integration of AI/ML into enterprise systems. • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or similar certification.
