Overview We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our early childhood education team. This role provides vital support across classrooms, ensuring a nurturing and engaging environment for children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers. The ideal candidate will have experience with children, classroom management skills, and a passion for fostering developmental growth through innovative teaching methods. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, collaborating with experienced educators to support curriculum development and individualized learning plans. Pay depends on education and experience. This is an 8 hour shift, MONDAY-FRIDAY Duties • Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and behavior management strategies. • Provide direct care and supervision for children, ensuring their safety and well-being during activities, transitions, and playtime. • Support classroom management by fostering positive behavior and engaging children in age-appropriate activities. • Help with classroom organization, including preparing materials for lessons and maintaining a clean learning environment. • Work with children with diverse needs, including those with autism or disabilities, applying specialized techniques such as behavior management strategies. • Collaborate on curriculum development tailored to early childhood development milestones and individual learning needs. • Assist in documenting children's progress and communicating effectively with parents and team members regarding developmental updates. • Serve as a float between classrooms to provide coverage during staff absences or busy periods, maintaining consistency in classroom routines. Qualifications • Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school, or similar settings is preferred. • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development. • Experience working with children with special needs or disabilities is highly desirable. • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members. • Ability to manage classroom behavior and implement behavior management techniques successfully. • Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to preschool or toddler age groups. • Certification or coursework in early childhood education or special education is a plus but not required. • Passion for working with young children and supporting their educational journey through compassionate care and innovative teaching strategies.
