We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full-Time Building Code Inspector to join our Building Codes team. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with New York State Building Codes and local regulations through field inspections of residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction or code enforcement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 per year The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. Job Duties Conduct on-site inspections of residential and commercial projects to verify compliance with applicable New York State Building Codes and local ordinances. Document inspection results and prepare clear, concise reports for project records. Communicate findings and code requirements to contractors, design professionals, and municipal officials. Identify code violations and provide guidance on corrective actions. Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with clients and project stakeholders. Coordinate with internal team members to support project schedules and deliverables. Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, building inspection, or code enforcement. Current New York State Building Code Inspector or Code Enforcement Official certification. Strong working knowledge of New York State Building Codes and construction practices. Reliable personal vehicle and willingness to travel up to 50 miles for site inspections. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
