Full Description

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Medical Biller/Coder to join our Family Practice team as a 1099 contractor. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in billing and coding for Family Medicine, including Medicare and Medicaid, and who is highly proficient in Athena. Responsibilities: • Review and verify patient information and insurance coverage • Prepare and submit claims using ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG coding systems • Ensure compliance with billing regulations and payer guidelines • Maintain accurate and organized medical records • Resolve billing issues with insurance companies and patients • Collaborate with providers and office staff to streamline billing workflows • Stay current on coding updates, payer policies, and Athena system changes Requirements: • Proven experience with Athena (required) • Strong knowledge of Family Practice billing, including Medicare and Medicaid • Familiarity with ICD-10, ICD-9, modifiers, and DRG classifications • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Effective communication skills with patients, providers, and insurance representatives • Certification in medical billing/coding is a plus, or equivalent experience Why Join Us? • Flexible remote work • Supportive team environment • Opportunity to contribute to a growing practice • Make a meaningful impact in healthcare administration If you meet the qualifications and are ready to bring your expertise to a fast-paced, detail-oriented team, we encourage you to apply today.
