Working in HR at Kuehne+Nagel brings more joy than we imagine. ‎ How you create impact Reporting to the Head of Human Resources for the United States, you will lead the overall HR Compliance and Labor Relations functions for the US within our large, multi-national organization. The role will oversee the creation of new HR compliance programs to align with best practices, review established programs and processes to promote compliance and ethical behavior, ensure regulatory obligations are met and prevent, detect and mitigate compliance risks. As VP, Labor Relations and Employment Compliance you will develop and manage a team of Compliance Analysts responsible for guiding special projects, providing regulatory interpretation, performing compliance reporting and carrying out compliance auditing and monitoring strategies. Employment Compliance & Regulatory Oversight • Develop and maintain internal controls and training programs to meet Federal, State, and Local regulations, including for California and New York • Manage internal and external audit processes, including risk assessments and corrective actions • Monitor and communicate legislative and regulatory changes to HR, HRIS, Payroll, and leadership • Collaborate with Legal to ensure compliance with OFCCP and other regulatory reporting requirements • Advise on union matters, including collective bargaining, grievances, and arbitrations Cross-Functional Collaboration & Policy Development • Partner with HR, COEs, and business units to develop and revise policies aligned with new regulations. • Advise leadership on risk mitigation and employment-related best practices. • Ensure implementation of corrective actions across departments. Team Leadership & Training • Oversee HR Compliance team operations, task alignment, and goal setting. • Develop and deliver onboarding and ongoing training for Compliance Analysts. • Foster team expertise in compliance procedures and best practices. • Maintain effective communication through regular status updates and cross-functional coordination. Documentation & Systems Management • Maintain regulatory databases and documentation to uphold corporate standards • Assess HRIS systems to support compliance objectives and system updates • Provide tools and guidance to ensure stakeholder compliance with labor and employment laws What we would like you to bring • 10+ years of combined experience in HR Compliance, HR Auditing, Employee and Labor Relations, or Employment Counsel roles, or equivalent experience • 5+ years of experience leading and developing employees and building teams • Master’s degree in business, Labor Relations or related discipline. Juris Doctor preferred. • Extensive experience with Wage and Hour, FLSA, OFCCP and ADA employment laws and regulations • Experience with California and New York labor laws required • Experience working within a multi-national organization and developing relationships across functions • Experience with both Employment and Traditional Labor Law. • Demonstrated track record of challenging existing policies and processes and building business cases to support necessary changes. • Domestic travel required 35% What's in it for you At Kuehne+Nagel we strive daily to inspire, empower, and deliver not only to our customers, but also to our colleagues. Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
