Job Description KPFF Seattle's Structural Team consists of structural engineers working in a vast array of building design fields such as high-rise towers, office buildings, hospitals, medical centers, parking garages, and higher education buildings. In this position, you will: • Lead all phases of structural engineering projects, from concept, schematic layout, and design to budgeting, scheduling, and closeout, ensuring timely and successful achievement of project goals. • Act as the primary liaison for clients, building strong relationships, managing expectations, and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. • Cultivate and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering effective communication and collaboration. • Collaborate seamlessly with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integration of structural systems with other design elements. • Participate in project meetings, overseeing timelines, budgets, and client interactions to guarantee successful project outcomes. • Contribute to proposal development and drive business growth through networking and client engagement. • Manage the Quality Control process and ensure compliance with relevant building codes, company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices in all projects and designs. • Conduct and supervise the preparation of detailed drawings, specifications, and structural analysis and calculations, adhering to codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE-7, AISC 360, and ACI 318. • Leverage Revit/BIM software for design coordination and drawing production, ensuring precision and efficiency in plans, sections, and connection details for construction documents. • Identify potential risks and devise effective mitigation strategies. • Conduct and oversee field observation to document existing conditions and gather essential data, providing valuable insights for project planning. • Manage the construction administration phase of projects, assisting contractors with drawing interpretation, coordinating retrofit solutions, responding to queries, reviewing shop drawings and deferred submittals, and performing site observations. • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes professional growth. • Oversee administrative tasks as needed, ensuring smooth project operations and adherence to organizational protocols. • Stay informed of industry advancements and integrate new technologies and methods to enhance project outcomes and client satisfaction. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: • BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering • 7 years minimum experience with a consulting firm Preferred Qualifications: • MSCE or MSE with emphasis in Structural Engineering • Professional Engineering license in Civil Engineering • Structural Engineering license • Strong technical and organizational abilities • Experience in the design and construction of reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood, masonry, and/or post-tensioned concrete for primarily building structures • Proficiency with the following software, or similar software: RAM Structural Systems (RAMSteel, RAMConcept), CSI Software Suite (ETABS, SAP, SAFE), REVIT • Passionate about providing exceptional client services • Strong communicator and collaborator • Self-motivated • Ability to work with and lead junior engineers Additional Information Physical Demands: • Duties are primarily conducted in a standard office setting, requiring prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer table. • Occasionally may be required to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs. • Occasionally visiting project and construction sites may involve walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain. • Traveling to project sites or client meetings, which may involve driving or flying. Compensation: The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and skills. The expected range for a qualified candidate is $95,000 - 145,000 annually. Additionally, we offer performance-based bonuses to recognize and reward outstanding contributions in each Reporting Center.
