Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist, where your energy and dedication will directly enhance patient experiences and streamline clinical operations. This vital role combines front-office responsibilities with clinical support, ensuring smooth patient flow and exceptional care delivery. You will be the welcoming face of our practice, managing patient intake, scheduling, and administrative tasks while also assisting with clinical procedures across diverse medical specialties including dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and outpatient services. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help us maintain a high standard of patient service and operational excellence. Duties • Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and collect accurate patient demographics during check-in and check-out processes. • Assist with patient intake by recording vital signs, updating medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations or procedures. • Support clinical staff by measuring vital signs, performing basic laboratory tests, and assisting with procedures such as X-ray imaging or medication administration. • Maintain accurate documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including ICD coding, anatomy details, and physiology notes to ensure comprehensive patient records. • Manage appointment scheduling efficiently for outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or specialty areas like geriatrics or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit). • Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing correspondence, processing referrals, and coordinating with hospital departments for Level I or Level II trauma center cases. • Ensure compliance with safety protocols including Basic Life Support (BLS), infection control standards, and proper handling of medications in emergency medicine or surgical settings. Skills • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding to accurately document patient encounters. • Experience working in dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or outpatient settings; familiarity with hospital experience preferred. • Proficiency in EHR systems to document patient information efficiently and securely; experience with X-ray procedures or OR (Operating Room) support is a plus. • Ability to perform vital signs measurement, intake assessments, medication administration support, and basic life support (BLS) certification. • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients in PICU or inpatient environments. • Knowledge of medical-surgical practices and internal medicine protocols; familiarity with Level I Trauma Center operations enhances your versatility. • Effective communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with healthcare teams across emergency medicine settings or hospital departments.
