Full Description

Build software that helps people make better decisions while work is happening KosmosDX builds AI-enabled software and operating infrastructure that helps insurance organizations protect revenue, improve performance, and scale. We are hiring a U.S.-based Senior Full-Stack Product Engineer to help build a confidential AI-enabled SaaS platform for regulated customer operations. The platform brings contextual guidance, knowledge, next-best actions, quality evaluation, performance intelligence, and coaching into one connected workflow. This is not a narrow frontend role, a backend-only role, or a ticket-taking position. You will own meaningful product capabilities from problem definition through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing improvement. You will work directly with KosmosDX’s Technology and Product leadership and collaborate with product, design, operations, data, and industry experts. You will have genuine influence over the product, architecture, engineering standards, and roadmap. What you will own Design, build, test, release, and support production features across the user interface, backend services, APIs, data models, and integrations. Develop responsive product experiences that make complex workflows clear, fast, and intuitive for frontline employees and operational leaders. Build real-time and asynchronous workflows supporting contextual guidance, intelligent scoring, alerts, analytics, and operational decision-making. Integrate the platform with external CRM, contact-center, telephony, data, workflow, and AI services. Translate customer and product requirements into sound technical designs, realistic delivery plans, and maintainable software. Improve application performance, reliability, observability, automated testing, security, privacy, and deployment practices. Investigate production issues, identify root causes, implement durable fixes, and communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Participate in architecture decisions, code reviews, technical documentation, release planning, and engineering-process improvements. Help determine where applied AI creates meaningful value—and where deterministic software, better data, or a simpler workflow is the better solution. What makes you a strong fit You have substantial professional experience building and supporting production web applications, typically five or more years. You have personally owned full-stack capabilities from initial design through production release and ongoing support. You are comfortable working across modern web interfaces, backend services, APIs, relational databases, cloud infrastructure, and third-party integrations. You understand that production engineering includes automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, security, documentation, and incident response—not only writing feature code. You can take an ambiguous business problem, ask the right questions, identify tradeoffs, and turn it into a reliable technical solution. You communicate clearly with product leaders, designers, operational users, and other engineers. You are comfortable working independently in a remote environment without disappearing, waiting for perfect requirements, or requiring constant task direction. You can explain what you personally built, why you made specific architectural decisions, what failed, and what you learned. You care about product usability and business outcomes as much as technical elegance. Current technology environment *Core stack: * • Backend: bPython 3.12, Django 5.2, Django REST Framework • Database: PostgreSQL • Frontend: Server-rendered Django templates, HTMX, Tailwind CSS, Vanilla JavaScript • Runtime and application delivery: Gunicorn, WhiteNoise • Cloud and data: Azure Blob Storage, Azure Synapse data pipelines • Integrations and observability: Salesforce REST and SOAP APIs, Azure Monitor, OpenTelemetry A perfect keyword match is not required. Strong engineering fundamentals, production ownership, adaptability, and sound technical judgment matter more than having used every tool in our environment. Experience that would be especially valuable • Applied AI, LLM APIs, retrieval systems, structured outputs, evaluation, prompt management, or AI-assisted workflows. • Real-time applications, event-driven systems, queues, background processing, or streaming data. • CRM, contact-center, telephony, call-recording, speech, quality-management, or workforce-management integrations. • Analytics, scoring, operational dashboards, data pipelines, or performance-intelligence products. • Insurance, healthcare, financial services, or another regulated industry. • Secure development involving sensitive customer or health-related information. • Experience working in a smaller product organization where engineers contribute to product decisions and own production outcomes. • Modernizing a product or codebase while continuing to deliver customer-facing improvements. What success looks like During your first 30 days You will learn the product, users, domain, architecture, delivery process, and current engineering priorities. You will establish a working local environment, review production workflows, and ship an appropriately scoped improvement. During your first 60 days You will independently own a production feature or technical improvement, including design, implementation, testing, release, monitoring, and post-release follow-up. During your first 90 days You will lead a meaningful capability from product requirement through production, contribute to architectural and engineering-practice decisions, and demonstrate that you can be trusted with a critical area of the platform. Why join KosmosDX • Meaningful ownership: You will own complete capabilities rather than one narrow layer of the application. • Direct influence: You will work closely with Technology and Product leadership and have a voice in architecture and roadmap decisions. • Applied AI with a real purpose: The product uses AI as part of a broader operational system—not as a superficial feature or demonstration. • Real customer problems: You will solve workflow, quality, service, performance, and operational problems that affect employees and customers every day. • End-to-end engineering: The role includes product thinking, software delivery, integrations, reliability, security, and production ownership. • U.S.-based remote work: The position is remote within the United States, with consistent overlap during [required working hours or time zones]. KosmosDX is a U.S.-based insurance technology and operations company that connects systems, data, workflows, and accountable operating expertise. The company’s mission is to give time back to the people who drive growth, with a focus on predictable operations, protected revenue, and growth without unnecessary internal complexity. Compensation and employment details • Base salary: $125,000 annually • Employment: Full-time • Location: Remote within the United States • Benefits: medical, dental, vision, PTO, retirement • Work authorization: Candidates must currently reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work in the United States. • Engagement type: Direct applicants only. We are not considering staffing-agency or C2C submissions for this position. *How to apply * Please submit your résumé or Wellfound profile and include brief answers to the following: • Describe one production capability you personally owned from design through release. What decisions were yours, and what happened after launch? • Describe a difficult production issue you personally diagnosed. How did you isolate the cause and prevent it from recurring? • What U.S. state and time zone are you currently based in? • Include a GitHub profile, portfolio, technical article, live product, or other work sample when available. Proprietary work is completely acceptable; explain your contribution without sharing confidential information. Generic applications that do not address the questions above may not receive a response.
