Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for Senior Cost Accountant (mostly remote, MUST live in Miami) - up to $120k base Position Summary We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This role is integral to managing and improving cost accounting processes across our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in standard costing, job costing, WIP (Work-In-Process) analysis, and waste tracking, with the ability to partner across departments to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and profitability. Key Responsibilities • Maintain and update standard costs for all manufactured products, including raw materials, labor, and overhead. • Perform job costing to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of production costs by batch, product, or project. • Conduct detailed WIP (Work-In-Process) analysis to reconcile and monitor production costs and ensure accurate inventory valuation. • Monitor and analyze production variances, yield, and waste, providing insights and recommendations to operations and finance leadership. • Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to evaluate material usage, scrap, and process efficiency. • Prepare and review monthly COGS, margin analysis, inventory reconciliations, and manufacturing variance reports. • Support monthly and year-end close processes related to cost accounting and inventory. • Collaborate with the Finance team on budgets, forecasts, and cost improvement initiatives. • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal control procedures, and audit requirements. • Drive continuous improvement in cost accounting processes, reporting tools, and ERP utilization. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). • 5 to 7 years of cost accounting experience in the manufacturing industry is required. • Experience with standard costing, job costing, WIP analysis, and waste/cost variance reporting. • Experience with ERP systems is required; Sage experience is a plus. • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis). • Experience in retail and e-commerce industries is a plus. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
