About the Role As Senior Income Tax Analyst, you will prepare and review Kohl’s federal, state and local income tax returns and partner with the business to ensure timely and accurate income tax accounting to support SEC reporting. What You’ll Do • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of tax filings • Identify and research complex or high-risk tax issues • Develop solutions based on research of complex or high-risk tax issues • Interpret applicable jurisdictional regulations, internal policies and procedures to ensure Kohl's compliance • Maintain current knowledge of relationships between Kohl's accounting records and tax reporting requirements • Present complicated tax matters to internal and external business partners and communicate solutions and recommendations • Maintain expertise in tax implications of business decisions and industry trends • Partner with Financial Reporting to ensure timely and accurate SEC reporting and related analysis • Gain an understanding of the positions of third parties (government officials, etc.) • Evaluate the implications of different settlement alternatives and develop appropriate strategies to maximize the potential for a favorable settlement • Monitor federal and state income tax laws to determine the impact of new legislation • Respond to tax controversy, research and implement tax savings strategies and assist with negotiating state and local tax incentives related to Kohl’s business plans • Additional tasks may be assigned What Skills You Have Required • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and other Financial Software programs, along with accounting, budgeting and forecasting skills • Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, time management and communication skills • Adept multitasker Preferred • 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance • CPA or MBA • Retail industry experience This role is based at our Corporate Office in Menomonee Falls, WI. You’ll work onsite from Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
