Position: Senior Project Engineer - Industrial Solutions Location: Sheboygan, WI Division: Power Systems, Americas - Industrial Solutions Engineering Reports to: Manager - Industrial Solutions Who You Are A seasoned mechanical engineer with 5+ years of experience in industrial product development (or 3+ years with a master's degree), you thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional environments. You lead design initiatives with precision, blending technical depth) with strong project management, clear communication, and an entrepreneurial mindset. You've tackled complex challenges before, especially in power generation, engines, or heavy machinery and you're driven to continue innovating. What You'll Do • Lead full cycle CAD & mechanical design: Own custom generator sets, enclosures, and accessories from concept through release, creating parametric models, assemblies, and detailed documentation. • Drive cross-functional engineering: Collaborate with electrical, controls, procurement, manufacturing, sales, and global teams to ensure seamless product integration. • Mentor and manage: Guide CAD analysts and junior engineers, delegate tasks strategically, and uphold engineering best-practices across global teams. • Manage projects proactively: Define scope, schedule, and budgets; identify risks and trade-offs; and deliver quality designs on time and within cost constraints. • Optimize design for manufacturability: Select materials and components to achieve premium quality, performance, and cost efficiency. • Adopt and incorporate new technologies: Research advancements, integrate simulation inputs, and champion continuous improvement initiatives. • Interface with suppliers & customers: Collaborate with vendors for components and occasionally engage with end-users to align deliverables with expectations. What You Bring • Education & Experience • BS in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years experience, or • MS in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years experience • Experience with internal combustion engines, power generation, or heavy industrial machinery is a strong advantage. • Technical Skills • CAD/3D modeling, CREO preferred (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX or equivalent) • Solid foundation in manufacturing processes: machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication • Fundamental expertise in thermodynamics, stress & dynamic analysis, and electricity basics • Material selection, GD&T, FEA/CFD familiar • Leadership & Communication • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and managing projects • Strong verbal and written communicator; capable of presenting to internal teams and external clients • Organized, self-motivated, and capable of balancing multiple priorities • Exposure to global engineering teams and remote collaboration What You'll Gain • Career Growth: Opportunities to lead early, manage larger engineering and project initiatives, and chart your development in mechanical engineering and leadership. • Impact: Directly influence the design of innovative, custom power generation systems. • Collaborative Culture: Work alongside experts in engineering, simulation, purchasing, production, and sales.
