The Quality Engineer will review purchase orders, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with customer requirements and maintain the Quality Management System. They will also conduct audits and interact with customers and suppliers to support product quality and throughput.
Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of manufacturing quality experience. Experience with high compliance standards and auditing is essential, while knowledge of investment casting and lean manufacturing is desirable.
Our client is looking for a Quality Engineer. They are a foundry operation making parts for aerospace, defense and other industries. The company is located between Madison and Milwaukee. Markets served include defense and aerospace This division is an investment casting foundry with 100 team members Certifications include: AS9100, ISO 9001, Nadcap, and ASNT Levels II & III. What they will be doing: Review purchase order, drawings, and specification requirements and specifications focused on negotiation of customer requirements, forward-thinking product quality planning and translation of requirements to operations. Maintain compliance of products to these requirements. Maintenance and improvement of Quality Management System and related software systems. Work with Operations, Engineering, and Sales departments to support customer needs and product throughput. Interact directly with customers and suppliers. Develop, maintain and implement quality procedures and work instructions in compliance to customer and specification requirements. Conduct audits to assure compliance to quality system, processes and schedules. Ensure customer verification and acceptance completed (FAI, PPAP or pre-production requirements) What they are looking for:· Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, statistics or related course of study with 5+ years of manufacturing quality experience. Experience with ISO9000 / AS9100, or other high compliance standards (defense, aerospace or similar) is needed Experience with auditing, including internal and supplier audits, as well as complying with customer audits Any experience with investment casting, metal manufacturing & machining, heat treating, or non-destructive testing (NDT) is desired Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, PPAP, FMEA or root cause analysis is helpful Benefits: Health, dental, vision, disability & life insurances 401K match of 3% when you put in 6% Profit Sharing – First 6% is added to your 401K in addition to the match, and then there is a realistic potential for an additional cash payout.
