Gaming is our foundation, but our culture is our edge. About the Role We’re seeking a Human Resources Director to lead HR operations within our fast-paced hospitality organization. This role will support our Champions Club business throughout Texas as well as the KSI team. The ideal candidate will drive business outcomes through innovative HR strategies and partner closely with executives to shape the company’s future workforce. You will also have extensive experience in HRIS systems, benefits administration, payroll, workers' compensation, recruiting, and employee engagement. Responsibilities Lead all HR functions, including employee relations, talent acquisition, training, HRIS, benefits, workers' compensation and compliance. Oversee two direct reports and provide them with development & growth opportunities Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including gaming and hospitality regulations. Work with the HRIS team to optimize functionality with the system and ensure data integrity. Manage workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs. Oversee and implement onboarding, training, and talent development programs to enhance retention and engagement. Drive employee engagement initiatives, fostering a culture of inclusion, recognition, and professional growth. Guide performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution, equipping managers with effective tools for employee development. Partner with leadership to align HR and talent management strategies with organizational goals. Oversee recruitment and succession planning, ensuring strategic workforce planning and leadership development. Proactively mitigate legal risks by implementing policies, training, and investigation processes for workplace issues. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and regulations, ensuring company compliance. Design and manage compensation structures and benefits packages to attract and retain top talent. Optimize HR technology to improve self-service functionality, data security, and HR service delivery. Assist with developing community partnerships and providing opportunities for employees to give back to the community. Travel to sites to support the business as required Perform additional duties as needed to support business objectives. Experience & Skills 7+ years of HR generalist experience partnering directly with senior leadership to develop, align, and implement HR and organizational development strategies. 3+ years of people management experience in HR. Experience supporting business with a largely non-exempt or hourly employee population Strong Knowledge of current Texas and/or California employment laws and legislation and best practices. Extensive experience leading, mentoring, and fostering the professional growth of teams. Experience implementing strategies and systems for talent management, compensation and benefits, and HR technology. Expertise in analysis, critical decision making, project management, and process improvement. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills, including proficiency in developing and delivering presentations. Ability to identify, influence, and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve desired organizational outcomes. Ability to maintain confidentiality, diplomacy, and commitment to the needs of the business Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR system applications. Qualities & Preferences Prior experience in Hospitality, Entertainment, or Gaming with complex organizational structures. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Advanced HR certifications are a plus. HRCI and/or SHRM Certification highly preferred. Ability to listen and probe to understand underlying needs and/or root cause of an issue. Ability to provide thoughtful, progressive and strategic guidance. Prior experience in a pre-opening or start-up environment strongly preferred. Experience with UKG. An empathetic style with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence behavior and buy-in at all levels of an organization. Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems.
