Job Title: Director – Flight Management Systems Location: USA/Canada Experience Level: Senior Leadership (12–18+ years) 🔹 Role Summary We are seeking a Senior Commercial Aviation Software Leader with deep expertise in airline operations, flight management systems, and commercial aviation software platforms. This role will lead cross-functional engineering and product teams responsible for designing, delivering, and optimizing mission-critical airline software solutions. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of technical leadership, aviation domain knowledge, and stakeholder management, with experience working closely with airlines, operations teams, and product organizations. 🔹 Key Responsibilities Technical & Product Leadership • Lead development and delivery of commercial aviation and flight management software platforms • Drive system architecture, scalability, performance, and reliability • Guide engineering teams across full SDLC (design, development, testing, deployment) Aviation Operations Expertise • Collaborate with airline stakeholders on flight planning, dispatch, crew operations, safety, and regulatory compliance • Ensure systems align with FAA / global aviation standards • Translate airline operational requirements into scalable software solutions Team & Stakeholder Management • Manage and mentor engineering, product, and technical teams • Work with business leaders, customers, and vendors to define roadmap and priorities • Act as a bridge between technical teams and airline business users Process Optimization • Improve operational efficiency through system enhancements and automation • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across commercial airline platforms • Oversee documentation, support models, and production stability 🔹 Must-Have Skills & Experience ✔ 10–15+ years experience in commercial aviation software / airline systems ✔ Strong background in Flight Management Systems, airline operations, dispatch, or commercial platforms ✔ Proven experience leading engineering or product teams ✔ Ability to gather complex operational requirements and convert them into technical solutions ✔ Experience working directly with airlines, aviation operations teams, or aviation software vendors
