Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, several years of commercial construction project management experience, and proficiency with scheduling software.
The Construction Project Manager plans, directs and coordinates activities pertaining to a construction project(s). The Project Manager uses construction expertise to establish and maintain schedules, select subcontractors, maintain the highest of quality standards and assure that the project is constructed in accordance with contract documents and corporate policy. Essential Job Functions · Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules in coordination with the Superintendent and Department Head, ensuring timely updates and communication to all stakeholders. · Serve as the primary liaison for official written communications with clients, subcontractors, designers, and consultants throughout all project phases. · Support the preparation of project estimates and budgets; maintain accurate financial forecasts and coordinate with Accounting to ensure timely billing, reporting, and cost tracking. · Lead project review meetings and oversee coordination of information flow among internal teams, clients, and design professionals. · Manage subcontract bidding, negotiation, and contract awards—balancing price, capability, schedule, and alignment with company standards. · Prepare, distribute, and execute contracts, change orders, and related documentation promptly while ensuring accuracy and compliance. · Monitor subcontractor performance, approve invoices, and ensure project costs and cash flow remain on track. · Facilitate project coordination meetings and maintain organized documentation, reports, and records in Procore. · Maintain current safety certification and support field safety initiatives. · Provide consistent progress updates and direction to project teams to ensure project success from initiation through closeout. Educational/Experience Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or other related field. · Knowledge of general construction techniques for sitework, commercial office, light industrial and retail projects. · Knowledge of site development. · MEP design-build commercial construction. · Several years experience managing commercial construction projects. · Ability to create a non-adversarial atmosphere for solving problems and challenges. · Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service. · Excellent leadership qualities. · Excellent oral and written communication skills. · Prior experience using scheduling software to create a project schedule. · Use of various computer software applications related to general business practices.
